The 2018 Shanghai Jiaotong University and Royal Summer Institute of Technology International Summer School was held in Shanghai Jiaotong University from June 11th to June 15th. The conference was organized by the School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University. A total of 14 professors in the fields of medical equipment, medical imaging, nano-engineering, neuro-engineering, molecular medicine, and systems biology were invited to teach and exchange ideas in order to promote the cooperation between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Royal Swedish Institute of Technology.

In the afternoon of June 14th, Prof. Ye Jian gave a report entitled "Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy for biomedical applications". He introduced the various applications of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy in the biomedical field captivating the attention of students and professors.  The presentations were followed by lively discussions.
